Flights News On Unveiling For Two Para-Military Types And Flagship King Air 350i At AAD 2010 Show In Cape Town,South Africa
Making its maiden public appearance at the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition at the Ysterplaat Air Force Base, Cape Town recently was a uniquely-equipped Pacific Aerospace pac750 turboprop aircraft which has been specially adapted as an airborne "eye in the sky" as reported in October 2010 air news.
The aircraft also featured as one of four turbine-powered machines which flew from Gauteng to the show in Cape Town using Sasol's new 100% synthetic jet fuel for the first time.
PAC750 Surveillance aircraft is the result of the combined efforts of three companies, Pretoria-based Carl Zeiss Optronics, National Airways Corporation (NAC) of Lanseria International Airport, and Global Composite Solutions (GCS), which is based at Wonderboom Airport, Pretoria. Together they developed a unique surveillance system for the aircraft which came into service some months ago but only made its first public appearance at AAD 2010.
NAC provided the aircraft, GCS designed and developed the special under-slung pod fitted to the aircrafts fuselage, and Carl Zeiss fitted into the pod the LEO-11-A5-EP airborne observation system and Trakka beam search light. This is a unique concept combining a retractable airborne observation system and search light combination on a fixed wing aircraft that can fly at very slow speeds and provide an ideal platform for convert aerial surveillance with long endurance and low operating costs which can be operated from almost any terrain.
The LEO-11-A5-EP enhances the aircrafts ability to perform Long Range search and rescue, surveillance, reconnaissance, and other observation missions under all environ-mental conditions. It is the system of choice for police air support units worldwide.
The selected LEO-11-A5-EP configuration includes the lates generation 640 by 480 High Resolution 8-9 um focal plane array (FPA) QWIP thermal imager with three fields of view, a 3-CCD daylight TV camera with a powerful zoom lens spatially matched to the thermal imager FOV, wide spectrum Spotter TV camera with a dual colour and black and white capacity providing close-in image magnification, video auto-tracker, searchlight slaving kits, and an eye-safe laser pointer which enhances the operational effectiveness by covert marking of points of interest.
This sensor combination provides the operator with best picture performance under all operational conditions, high altitude, long slant distance operation thereby enhancing safety and covert surveillance.
Carl Zeiss Optronics is one of the leading manufacturers of advanced Optronic, optical and precision engineered products for military and civilian applications. These include border surveillance, reconnaissance on land, water and from the air, as well as compact, handheld target locating devices, all of which were promoted by the company at its stand at AAD 2010.
Hawker T-6 Trainer
Following a demonstration tour to various air forces in North and West Africa earlier in September, Hawker Beech crafts turboprop military trainer made its public debut at Africa Aerospace and Defence soon after the exhibition opened.
Various Marques of the trainer are available, one of which has been selected by the Royal Moroccan Air Force with other air forces in the continent also showing a keen interest in the type.
The aircraft also appeared at the recent Farnborough Air Show and there is a strong chance that it might be seen also at next months Avex air show in Cairo.
Fit For A King
The latest offering from Hawker Beech craft Corporation, the turboprop flagship King Air 350i made its official South Africa debut recently and was on show at last months Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition at Ysterplaat Air Force Base, Cape Town.
The King Air 350i was also one of four turbine-powered aircraft which flew from Johannesburg to Cape Town using Sasol's new 100% synthetic Jet A-1 fuel as part of the fuels official launch at Ysterplaat
Being promoted by HBC agents, Lanseria International Airport-based National Airways Corporation, the King Air 350i type was certified in January 2010, marking a dramatic technological leap forward from the original King AIR 350 to the 350i thanks mainly to four key interior upgrades.
The first of these upgrades is the Rockwell Collins Venue integrated cabin management and information system which has been installed on complement complete redesign of interior cabin comparable to an aircraft costing millions more. Added to these refinements are a new standard of quietness with an exclusive multi-step noise reduction process and the revolutionary new Beech craft "Flex Cabin" capacity.
In total 6000 King Airs of all models have been produced, operating in 94 countries worldwide and amassing over 40-million flight hour to date.
The King Air 350i is the first turboprop, on the market to feature Rockwell Collins' Venue integrated cabin management system (CMS), which features video screens, eight programmable switch panels in the passenger cabin and one in the cockpit, offering (as standard) flight information, fingertip control of all cabin lighting, selection and control of the audiovisual system, cabin temperature adjustment, darken and lightening of the electro-chromic windows, and USB-powered noise cancelling headsets.
The system supports all current personal electronic devices and is provisioned for future system expansion to accommodate technology growth.
Optional cabin adds-ons are a media centre device, Blu-Ray DVD viewer, personal video displays and satellite telephone.
The Hawker Beech craft Flex cabin capability enables the owner to mix-and-match or remove aft club components including optional ottomans for either aft facing or forward facing seats, new headliner, seat tailoring and tables, electro-chromic window darkeners and LED lighting ,increased legroom, improved temperature control, restyled cabinetry choices allow integration of the Collins cabin entertainment system with CD/DVD and air show capability, an exclusive multi-step noise reduction process that brings interior sound levels to an average 78 Dba, and optional seat warmers and ottomans.
Up front, the King Air 350i features the Collins Pro-Line 21 avionics. This integrated system simplifies single-pilot operation and adds an extra level of safety to the King Airs. This state-of-the –art system features a pilots and co-pilots primary flight display (PFD) ,a multi-function display (MFD) with complete engine parameter monitoring, and the latest in safety and capability enhancing equipment to include TAWS,EGPWS and RVSM.
The strategic "heads-up" placements of the flight director and autopilot enhance situational awareness and increase safety. The pilot can make critical altitude ,heading and navigational changes without ever looking down as the Collins flight guidance system provides accurate and reliable guidance as it locks on to various navigation points and approaches.
The avionics enhancements in the King Air 350i, include important safety upgrades, such as the flight deck incorporating Collins integrated flight information systems (IFIS) into the existing Pro Line 21 Avionics suite that offers a wide range of safety and increased situational awareness enhancements such as map overlays (airways, airspace, geopolitical, etc).
The maintenance diagnostic computer (MDC) displays maintenance data on the MFD through line select keys and allows maintenance information to be downloaded to a laptop computer for further examination away from the aircraft if required.
Also now available on the King Air 350i is RVSM (reduced vertical separation minimum) capability which provides the owner/operator with the required material to achieve RVSM operational approval. In additional, optional TCAS 11 offers traffic resolution (climb/descent vertical speed indicator commands) to avoid potential mid-air collisions.
So what does the lower-case "I" stand for? Well, as far as I am concerned, it stands for "intelligent, innovative, impressive, invaluable, iconic and ideal".
Basically the upgrade is mainly on the inside, as the King Air 350i boasts the same in-flight and on-ground operational capabilities as earlier models. It has the same superb handling qualities as the basic model and is powered by two fuel-efficient Pratt & Whitney PT6A-60A engines, flat rated at 1 0 50 shp each, with four-blade dynamically balanced constant speed Hartwell propellers.
The large cavity hubs provide precise synchrophasing to keep cabin sound levels low. Reverse pitch is available throughout the landing roll providing supplemental braking (especially effective in wet and icy conditions).

?
No, it depends, some laser pointer have the same model but they use different battery, also please pay attention to input the batteries, postive or negetive in front, it is very important, wrong install will lead the lasers burned.
