Pv Solar Roof Top Standalone System

Typically a Solar Roof Top Standalone System is installed at buildings/homes where there are major power supply issues from conventional resources (non-renewable). As the name suggests it is a complete standalone module that takes care of all the power needs of a house or business establishment. Depending on the power demand of a particular household or business establishment the sizes and costs of Solar Roof Top Standalone Systems vary. It is therefore very important to first gauge the power needs before installing such a system.

How it works?

A complete solar Roof Top Standalone System comprises of four components. For easy understanding it is better to divide it into 3 main components and a subcomponent. The first component of such a system is solar panels that should be well positioned on the roof top to attract maximum sunlight to make optimum utilization. Remember as mentioned earlier it is important to first find out the actual power needs of a household/business establishment (depending on number of appliances running, bulbs, tubes, fans, etc.). The more the number of panels the more will be the DC power generated. The second and third component of such a system would be Solar Power Inverter and a battery respectively. Like conventional inverter running on batteries the solar inverters convert the DC power generated through the solar panels and provide AC current as electricity. The subcomponent of the standalone system is a Solar Charge Controller, which regulates the DC current flowing from the solar panels to the batteries and makes sure that the charging of batteries are optimized (no under or over charging).

Depending on the load factors and weather conditions, the standalone systems may also be connected to Solar Power off Grids.

Checklist before installing Solar Roof Top Standalone System

A thorough analysis or a study needs to be done on power requirements before buying and installing a roof top system. Firstly, you need to make a rough estimate of the number of appliances you would be running using such a system. Secondly, and most importantly the various technical factors need to be analyzed like the positioning of solar panels, battery types, quality and configuration of all the components, sub components, etc. Remember, buying a stand alone roof top system is a long term investment meant for reaping long term benefits!

Can't boot into windows 7. Goes into System diagnostics instead of windows?

I previously tried to dual boot windows 7 and another os, and then inserted the windows installation dvd. Then i pressed repair and pressed 'repair for startup' Now nomatter what i do it will go to this diagnostic box:

Choose an option:
Test Memory - Run the standalone memory test
Test System - Run system diagnostics
Exit - Exit the diagnostics.

If i try to exit it will restart and goto the same screen. I have also run both tests and still rebooted with no luck. If anyone has a solution please answer as i really need the computer. Thank You
I had already installed windows on my main partition, then made a new one and installed it on that. I am completely clueless :S

I will tell you right now. Windows 7 doesn't like to play well with other OS's.

What I finally ended up doing was formatting my hard drive into two partitions. Installed W7 on one partition and Ubuntu on the other partition.

Bottom line, you need to just start over. I recommend the two partitions. Install windows 7 first on one partition then the other OS on the second partition.

EDIT: Which second OS are you trying to install?
