
Have you ever wondered why the sphere of watchmaking is round?
Why not be a long string in a pointer moves to show time as the thermometer pointer moves to show the temperature?
It may be a mechanical reason … the pointer has to start all again every 12 to 24 hours … throughout the year makes that motion is only forward and without problems …. would otherwise be a slow forward until the end of day and then a snapshot of the high wind speed back to the start.
