Are blue LED lights in the headlights in the UK legal?

I just found blue LED lights that fit my Mini Cooper and side lights look very good, however after a few minutes surfing the Internet, I've had mixed responses on whether they are legal or not. Some say the flashing lights blue are illegal but are not static, while the rest say any blue light is illegal. Can anyone with knowledge of the police to clarify this?
