someone tried to break in my car and I want to know why they used a pry instead of thru window w/hanger?
my passenger side car door shows signs that someone tried to break in by prying it open. I don't know much about breaking into cars, so I'm wondering why this person tried prying the door instead of using a something to unlock it with through the window. What reasons would a person choose to pry the door? My windows have a sensor that goes off if the car is locked and something goes over it (for instance inserting your hand through the window when its down, from the outside will set the alarm off.) Is there a chance that whoever did this knew it? --- Why is it better to pry a door open from the side and not try something thru the window--- What was their motive (besides the obvious reason) to decide to break in this way?
what type of car will decide how someone tries to break into a vehicle: older, cheaper cars will get through the windows because of the way the window seal and leaves a soft spot for a coat hanger. they could also try using a slim jim on almost any car.
